Old Style-  Old style typefaces were based on Roman inscriptions. Old Style typeface is a style of font that was developed by typographers to replace the black-letter style or type. The type had a low contrast between thick and thin lines.

Grotesque- also known as “lineals” are a sans-serif style of typeface. It was the first Sans-serif typeface designed and was based on mathematical equations.

Sans Serif – comes from the Latin word ’sans’ which means “without”. This means that the sans-serif typeface does not have the small strokes or tails at the end of the type. Sans-serif typeface are used more in headlines rather than in body text.

Display typeface- is a Modern typeface used for displaying work. It’s used for attracting readers attention and to draw the reader into the text. These techniques can be used in poster’s, billboards or anything to display a message.
